SimpleCall 2011: Year in Review

As 2011 draws to a close, it’s only natural to reflect back on the year’s highlights and accomplishments. And we’re pleased to say that Zamir Telecom and the SimpleCall family of products, including SimpleCall Mobile, Business and Lounge, have had a phenomenal 12 months! We’re proud to look back on the product launches, service and feature improvements, events we’ve sponsored, charity work and recognition from the community. Here, we’ve highlighted some of our favourite achievements.

Product and Service Launches

Launch of SimpleCall Lounge

SimpleCall Lounge opened the doors to its flagship store in September, offering a whole new way to experience SimpleCall services. The store, located in East Ham, offers high-speed Internet access, printing, scanning and faxing services, access to SimpleCall products including SIMs and top up services, phone accessories, electronics and even international money transfer. Launch of SimpleCall Mobile

In June, SimpleCall Mobile launched its SIM product, allowing UK customers to make low-cost national and international calls and texts right from their very own mobiles. Just six months later, SimpleCall Mobile boasts several thousand loyal customers. Within this same time, the company doubled its coverage and customers can now benefit from an additional network at no extra charge. This is due to the provider’s excellent reputation for transparent billing and reliable call quality.

Subscribers enjoy straightforward rates and exceptional, 24/7 customer service. Already looking ahead to 2012, SimpleCall Mobile promises another stellar year, packed with attractive offers and promotions to provide a value-added service to all communities across the UK.

SimpleCall Introduces Direct Dial Feature

Over the summer, SimpleCall customers were given access to a useful new feature, SimpleCall Direct. SimpleCall Direct makes it easier than ever to connect to your contacts worldwide by eliminating the need for access numbers and PIN codes. Now, all users have to do is dial a pre-assigned local number from their registered phone, and they’re talking in no time.

Partnerships and Expansion

Zamir Telecom Partners with CoreNet Communications

In May, Zamir Telecom announced a joint venture agreement with CoreNet Communications. The partnership resulted in Sudan-based CoreNet acting as the current exclusive agent for Zamir Telecom's business communications solutions, offering the Sudanese economy a business telecommunications service that has proved to increase efficiency in a great number of UK-based companies.

Zamir Telecom Exhibits at Major Global Expos

Throughout 2011, Zamir Telecom continued its global expansion efforts by attending several major expos, including the Gitex Technology Show in Dubai; MECOM in Abu Dhabi; International Telecoms Week (ITW) in Washington, D.C.; and Saudi ICT in Jeddah in December of last year.

Charity and Events

SimpleCall Customers Raise £3717.25 for Islamic Relief UK

During the month of August, SimpleCall users donated the value of 5 per cent of every top up amount to benefit a relief effort of their choice that benefits from Islamic Relief UK. These efforts include: East Africa Crisis Appeal; Emergency Funds for Bangladesh; Emergency Funds for India; Feed the Needy in Bangladesh, Middle East and North Africa; Orphans General; Pakistan Floods Reconstruction; Prison Mentoring Programme; and Water and Wells. Recognition

Zamir Telecom Placed #13 in The Sunday Times Tech Track 100

The Sunday Times Tech Track 100 champions the UK's top-performing small and medium-sized private businesses by looking at companies with 20-100 staff members that have achieved growth ranging from 35% pa to 360% pa in the past three years.

"At Zamir Telecom we have worked hard to be a global leader in telecommunications, setting high standards in our industry that we challenge our competitors to match," said Managing Director Naufal Zamir of the news. "It feels great to be recognised for this hard work by such a well-regarded institution."

Naufal Zamir Recognised by British Bangladeshi Who's Who 2011

In October, Managing Director Naufal Zamir was named amongst the "Who's Who" of successful British Bangladeshis, a compilation of prominent entrepreneurs, businessmen, academics and community members based in Britain.

Presented by the publishers of the London-based Bangla Mirror, British Bangladeshi Who’s Who is an annual publication highlighting the most successful, influential and wealthy members of the Bangladeshi community from various sectors and professions.

SimpleCall-Sponsored Scintilla Cricket Clubs Wins Essex County Division 1 Championship

In September, the Scintilla Cricket Club claimed the Division 1 Essex County Cricket League (ECCL). Having entered the Division 1 League just this year, the Barking and Dagenham-based club's win was an especially notable achievement. And that's not all! It was an amazing year for SimpleCall and Zamir Telecom, and we couldn't have done it without the support of our customers and community.

And as we look ahead to 2012, we have so much more that we're excited and proud to introduce to our customers.
